MaLu's Home
MaLu's elephant uncle always said to MaLu, that they live on the most beautiful continent, in Africa. MaLu does not know what a continent is, but the landscape he roams is soooo beautiful and there is so much to discover.

The highest mountain of Africa, Kilimanjaro, is not far from MaLu's home. When MaLu looks at its peak, he always sees a white cap and he believes that this is where the elephant heaven is. However, his elephant uncle explains to him, that this is snow and that a whole lot of people from all over the world come here only to see their mountain. MaLu has not seen any human beings yet, but he is proud at once to live in Africa.

MaLu is lucky to have a big family, who all love each other. Only yesterday MaLu slipped into a ditch and could not get out by himself. His elephant aunts came at once and pushed him out of the ditch. Boy, was he relieved! In return he sang a ditty for them. Well, it should have been. MaLu has still to practice.

MaLu is the youngest elephant child of his elephant parents and he has 5 siblings, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. At all times his elephant siblings show him new games he does not know yet; thus things are never boring for MaLu.

Last week there was a big elephant reunion. MaLu's elephant aunt came home from abroad. MaLu saw her for the first time at the festival. All the family members were curious about her stories. Elephant aunt Ana had worked in a circus for 20 years. However, she had not liked it because she was always caged. Immediately MaLu promised his elephant aunt to take long walks with her, so that she could enjoy her freedom again.

Elephant aunt Ana, however, can remember her elephant family very well after all these years and greets them lovingly with her trunk. MaLu had eaten so much on the festival as he had never done before. MaLu's elephant Mom had told him that he should eat much so that he would be big and strong. For soon the great pilgrimage of the animals would begin, which his elephant family would take part in, too.
