Impulse 13: The Brain's Mode of Operation

Why do things at times not go the way we want them to? Let us disclose the secret.
1. The Brain as a Funnel
When the event takes place, the funnel is at the narrow end and with time passing the old pain, the old dilemma, the deficit etc. increases, so that it has come to the broad end of the funnel, when it is being looked at. Thus we have to deal with a big mountain instead of a small one. Therefore we should approach our subjects, problems etc. at their time of origin and not run around keeping them.

2. Multifunctionality of the Brain
It does not matter for the brain if an action took place in reality or if it only developed in our head. There is only one reality for the brain, no matter which bowl the food came from. This signifies that the very thought could make horror scenarios run when somebody forgot to call us at an agreed date. Or, when we are sure to need an object and we do not have it, the fact alone of not having it can make us ill, no matter whether we would really need it or not. In a positive form this quality is called mental training. It means to use the head in order to prepare yourself for something or to achieve a certain thing. Example: To prepare for a race and to act it out continuously in your head. In future this is going to be an important activity for us.

3. Neutrality of the Brain
The brain is non-judgmental and carries out what we tell it to – provided that our conscience is not opposed to it. Example: When we say “I never want to have such a boss in my life again”, then the next boss will be a lot worse than the previous one. The reason for this is that the brain does not know a “no” or rather in this case a “never”, it simply deletes the word and carries out the order. And as the soul means well with us, it helps with it as well. It is better to formulate the wish saying what you want instead, for example: “I want a boss who appreciates my work”.

4. Effects of a Confidant's Actions
Examples: (1) When somebody says to us: “If you do not do this, you are going to be ill”, then we can get ill solely because of these words. This strategy is used with girls, who do not want to be circumcised. It would be better to not believe these words, for it is not the words that can make us ill but the fact that we believe them (for further information please see: Dark Beings). (2) If somebody says to us, that we are critically ill and that we only have two more years to live, these two years are stored in our head as a goal. Our head does not ask if a goal is good or bad, it simply stores it and then it will try everything to achieve this goal. I could be better to view messages like this as a possibility and not as an absolute and sole truth. Furthermore it can even sicken us, when the information is wrong, because the medical records have inadvertently been exchanged (nocebo effect). The less knowledge we have, also on psychological effects, the more susceptible we are.
